This was an excellent tutorial. Ed Kuna makes editing the Milky Way, using both Lightroom Classic and Photoshop, so easy. He is a really good instructor. I was able to learn so much about Lightroom Classic and Photoshop that I am now able to understand how the features work, in such a simple fashion. Highly recommended for folks not very familiar with Lightroom Classic and Photoshop.
This was a short segment, but the information provided is wonderful. I had just tried my hand at the Milky Way before I even realized this course was in the bundle. Wow, what a difference the editing process made compared to my initial attempts. What’s even better, this works so well for lightning shots as well, and boy, do I have a lot of those to go back through. Ones that I thought would be throwaways may have just become Instagram worthy. Thank you, Erik, for your concise, easy instruction. The flow makes sense and the results are amazing.
I like the idea of simplifying Milky Way photo editing, but the steps presented here way over-simplify it and try to paint in a one-size-fits-all approach that is really only suited for novice photographers who want to post their snapshots on Instagram. Lightroom masking is pretty great and amazing, but the mask qualities aren’t great close-up, or in prints. The nebulae in the Milky Way have all sorts of color and nuance that is totally lost in this sledgehammer approach to editing. With three more videos to go, I’m not sure I can sit through any more of the same thing over and over again, only to produce sub-par results. If you have no idea how to edit Milky Way shots, this could be a good way to get your feet wet. But if you have ever done any in the past, you can probably skip this course, or just watch the first one or two videos. The rest are more of the same.

This basic course on the Milky Way has opened my eyes to the possibilities. I live in an area with few clouds, therefore Milky Way photos should be more easily captured.
